Our Peace

“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.”
- Ephesians 4:3

The separation between mankind is bitter enough: wars tear apart nations, divorce decimates families, and death quietly steals loved ones away daily. Imagine if we were still separated from the Creator of the universe in all this? The unrest would eat us from the inside out, and those disconnected from the Father would continue to fight the shadows of evil in their lives alone.

But Christ in His love and wisdom has made Himself accessible to His creation. He points the way to the Father and immeasurable rest, made available to us by His sacrifice. The Lord stands ready to pull us from the worries and anxieties we face in this world today; at all times, He can be our peace.

With that said, Fourth of July is here again, and with it endless bursts of fireworks. For some of us, this is a splendid treat: to fling star-like sparkles and homemade thunder into the night sky! However, for some of our neighbors and loved ones that have seen combat in our armed forces, this is less of a fun thing and more of a triggering thing. The tradition is sure to continue, just like Christmas and New Year's, and it can be a difficult time for our veterans and other soldiers home from active duty. Know that the Lord is there to soothe and comfort those of you who have endured the strains of war and the anxieties that such boisterous celebrations bring.

Hoping everyone has a safe and enjoyable fourth, whether you spend it with family, best friends, or just yourself!
